Fifteen Stags Leap Wineries Blend One Cabernet, and Only 900 Bottles Were Produced
The 2024 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon: A Collaboration, the fourth vintage of the district-wide blend, was released Oct. 15 at $275 a bottle, in three- and six-bottle sets only.

NAPA: Fifteen wineries in the Stags Leap District have pooled their Cabernet Sauvignon lots into a single wine. The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association released the 2024 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon: A Collaboration on Oct. 15, the fourth vintage of the district-wide blend, with only 900 bottles produced, according to the association.
Each participating winery contributed one of its distinguished Cabernet Sauvignon lots, according to the announcement. A five-member master blending team then built the final wine: Travis Bullard of Cliff Lede Vineyards, Robbie Meyer of Malk Family Vineyards, Alison Rodriguez of Silverado Vineyards, Elizabeth Vianna of Chimney Rock Winery and Josh Widaman of Pine Ridge Vineyards, the association said.

Nancy Bialek, executive director of the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association, said in the announcement that the member wineries set their individual identities aside for the project.

A team that changes every year
The blending team rotates with each vintage, a design the association says is intentional, so that more of the district winemakers take part in shaping the wine over time. The goal, according to the announcement, is a Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks for the appellation rather than any single winery style, reflecting the balance of power and elegance the district is known for.
Three barrels, sold in sets
Production totaled three barrels, or 900 bottles, the association said. The wine is priced at $275 per bottle and sold only in three- and six-bottle sets, offered through the association website, where the district lists an Oct. 15 release date and an allocation request process.

The contributing wineries are Baldacci Family Vineyards, Chimney Rock Winery, Cliff Lede Vineyards, Ilsley Vineyards, Lewis Cellars, Lindstrom Wines, Malk Family Vineyards, Missimer, Pine Ridge Vineyards, Quixote Winery, Regusci Winery, Shafer Vineyards, Silverado Vineyards, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and Stags’ Leap Winery, according to the association.
The Stags Leap District Winegrowers is a nonprofit association of vintners and growers. Its stated mission is to foster member collaboration, elevate the stature of the appellation and protect the region’s legacy for future generations, according to the association.
